this one I found odd, a brother's wife had just passed away in our congregation, well not two weeks later, he's sitting with a sister from another congregation, and a month later they were married at the Kingdom Hall. I don't know, draw your own conclusions.

during the building of the 2 day kingdom hall, guess the security person fell asleep (must of been in on it ), some brothers helped themselves to lots of wood, bricks, tools, etc. etc. etc. they did get caught. How pathetic !!!!!!!

by FreeofGuilt ini probably was the biggest slut in the kh- sex before baptized @ 13- sex after baptism when i was 17. oral sex about 5 times w/ different guys from the kh-- what can i say, i loved being a rebel, & love sex- i think the elders liked it to because i had to tell them the details (some guy always told), & they would probably get off later- never was disfellowshipped-- i am a good actress, but i thought the "holy spirit" guided them, well not because they believed my sobbing- --:-) kristine

Did elders have more?
by freedom96 inthe question here is a general one, and i am sure that there are exceptions.. did elders have more than others in terms of material possesions?.
my experience was that they did.
the majority of elders i knew had money, or at least good jobs, and were in the top income brackets at least in the hall if not compared to most.. i am not saying they were rich, but better off than most.

Alot of elders in my congregation had high-paying factory jobs,
But it was okay for them to miss meetings because they were on shift work,
I used to throw this in their face all the time,
I moved up to the top ten of not to talk to.

Well , great question , I have so many, so keep checking back to this thread , it may go on for a long time !!!!!!!
By far the worst for me ( I know we all left the borg for various reasons, but this one made me think deeply and find enough courage to get out.)
A girl (17-18) of a well recognized elder, had gotten pregnant by her JW boyfriend (to make it worse) And I still can't believe it, but they got the money, kept it quiet from family (I found out because I was fairly close to him, we were good friends) and had an abortion. I learned a lot that day, How can you scare your children so much, and they do something like this. I don't blame the young couple, I blame the parents, for not living in the reality of planet earth. They were so scared, they saw no way out ......
So sad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the stupidty is unbelievable.
And the point that sends me into a furious frenzy, is when they say after acknowledging all these terrible things is well " they will have to answer to jehovah when the time comes"
Like that is there answer to everything, when something goes wrong.
It's amazing to me, I talked to my family recently, and asked how come they changed the 1914 generation thing, their answer, oh they didn't change it, we just understand it better now.
What is the point of talking to them !!!!!!!!!!!

Wow Lady Lee, so glad you made it through, it's nice to know I was not the only one.
I don't think I would of made it either, I still (15 years later) have a strong hatred for my family, Partially my fault (25%) and partially their's (75%)(I am shunned, it's like I was never born)
You almost think that the elders and family in some bizarre sickened way hope you would do it!!
Then could use it as an example in the meetings saying (how many times have we heard this one) "This is what happens when you don't put Jehovah's organization first in your life." and "This is what happens when you leave Jehovah's organization"
Well like the one poster said, I am now living life with the one I want, the only crime we did was getting a good job and having a real life.

Did you ever have a brother who's prayer went on and on and on and on ??

we had one guy in our congregation, everytime he closed with prayer, it went on for 30 minutes or longer, i remember one occasion, i am not kidding 65 minutes, torture 101.. anyone else have this experience.
